Thanks, Yuet. The TOC will be helpful. I am still at 'square one' and a bit confused now. FB3 will not backup with A0 bootloader, but FB2 will? You also say FB3 could be used to restore with A0. So if I backup with SB2 can that backup file be used to restore, if need be, using FB3?

Rick, let me clarify. A full backup consists of many parts, such as bootloader, PDS, and other code groups like Flash, Flex, DRM, LP, DSP and Signature.
FB3 will backup all the above except bootloader & pds. and FB3 can restore the FB3 backup (except for 08.A0 at the moment).
FB2 will be able to make a full backup, including bootloader & pds, for 08.A0 phone. However, FB2 cannot restore the FB2 backup.
Normally we don't touch bootloader & pds zones, so there's no need to restore them. For 08.A0, I suggest you do the followings:
1. use FB3 to backup all code groups (except BL & PDS) in SMG format.
2. use SHXCodec, open a full MP with 08.A0 ramloader, then replace all the code groups with the SMG files from your backup. After that, compile the MP.
3. use RSDLite to flash the MP.
OK Yuet. I'll give that a shot. I know we must try your patience now and then. I appreciate the knowledge at your site.

Anyways was I was experimenting to see if the mods works on the V360 too. I was able to use xvi32 to extract the PDS from a full backup I did using FB2. I ran it through some PDS editors and I'm pretty sure I added the extra SEEM correctly. The probelm now is getting it back on to the phone, since FB2 can't flash the PDS. I found some unlocker tools that could flash the PDS, but they required a testpoint. I'd like to know if you've had any experience or tips for using testpoints. Also since you have a E398 have you tried this mod on yours?
Since I manage my music with iTunes on my comp, I'd rather sync with iTunes than MotoTunes. Even if it is slower.
alex, I did do that mod on e398, it works perfectly.
I have not unlocker tools, but I tried testpoint my v360 before. My impression is that testpointing v360 only bypass the bootloader but does not erase the flash rom. So you need the unlocker hardware to erase the rom and write data back to it. since I don't have such tools, I can't comment further.
How did you do the testpoint on your v360? Did you open the phones yourself? How do you get it open? or did you pay someone else to do it?
From what I understand you just need to ground a certain pin and then run the unlocker program. The program I'm looking at is called P2K Easy Tool, which claims to be able to do full flash read/write as long as the v360 using the testpoint.
So is the PDS not locked for the E398? The mod still works for iTunes 7, right? since it's indistiguishable from a ROKR.
alex, yes, I open the phone myself. I cut off the shield with a pliers. (I don't suggest you do the same, :) it is risky.) I am not sure about that software. My impression is that an unlocker hardware is required to unlock the V360.
the 07.D0 bootloader in E398 doesn't have the RSA protection on PDS, so software like flashbackup can backup/restore the PDS.
Yes, you're right. the mod works for all iTunes versions.
so i just need to backup my data and use RSD Lite to put you`re MP to my phone...and every thing will be ok...

kuddo, before flashing, you must check your bootloader and firmware version. you can flash to my MPs if bootloader is 08.A0/08.D0/09.02. However, if your firmware is AER, you can only flash to the AER MP.
i`m havin` a R4513_G_08.B7.ABR and a 08.A0 ...so i guess it`s the "standard" flashing... right?
Flashed wrong telus (v3c) firmware onto v3m verizon. Now phone doesnt even enter bootloader mode. Probably bootloader corrupt. *#power does not work. Phone not visible to rsd , or any other flashing tools. What to do? Testpoint etc and how

Hi, try open rsdlite, then connect your phone. RSDlite should turn your phone in data mode. then open p2ktools to see if it can recognise your phone.

Stratus, did u install it using motomidman? If no, try using motomidman to install it. If yes, your current firmware doesn't allow your java apps to access phone file system. You may want to try my YuetMod v1.8 MP.

I was reading a review for the new motorola l7e, so i realized. Can my l7 flash to some mod l7e. Or the difference is when i,m looking my photos on m l7 i can't look them on fool screen, but in l7e even the camera can be on fool screen and landscape. I think this can be done in l7 and v360 to. All of this 3 phones are in java p2k so i think it can be.
Please yuet answer this question i want to watch photos on landscape mode.

Hey Yuet, I have to say your software is amazing however, there are somethings that I wanted to know if you could help me with. I have a trip in about 3 months to Russia and I have just got a pair of Wireless Bluetooth Headphones. If I want to use them on the Plane, i need to put it in Airplane mode on my V360 with version 2.0, but if i do that the Bluetooth shuts down. What to do? Also, my other q is, this may be impossible, but I have my eye on that new Sony Ericsson Watch that came out, so is it possible to make it compatible for my phone, or do i really have to get one of those headsets. EBAC, I don't have enough info about L7e to answer your question. I don't think we can flash L7 to L7e firmware directly. We can use java app to view photos in landscape.
Charles B, there's no choice. you have to get a wired headset, because no wireless signal is allowed in airplane, including bluetooth.
sorry yuet for interrupting u again, but what yava app can i use for viewing photos and videos in landscape mode (pls give me a link to download it)

HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1 i have yuetmod and i was in the testing menu and i did somehting and now when i turn on my phone it says fts then has lots of wierd code and at the bottom it says help & request...compass.mot.com/go/efem

jared, remove the battery to shut it off, then press and hold # and * keys, then power on to enter bootloader mode. Now you can connect and use rsd lite to flash.
What would I edit so that when I start to install a java app it asks whether I want to install it on the phone or on the card?
how do you install java app? via bluetooth. I am not sure which seem affect this function yet. One workaround is to take out the memory card if you want to install in phone memory.
Well, the only way I've installed java apps so far is usb connect the phone to the pc, copy the .jar files to the kjava dir on the card, then install the apps in the phone.
I can't remember which firmware I was using when it would ask me where I wanted to install the app. The phone came installed with 86R, I've tried Yuet's v1.8 and v2.0 and was stickied on AER for a while until I unlocked my phone.
I will try to find out the seem. meanwhile, you can try to use midway to install java app.

I need help from anyone reading this post. I have a fairly new -2 weeks- L7 phone I bought my wife. This phone was sold to me new and without the itunes software in it. It is unlocked. I downloaded 2 mp3 ringtones and installed them on the phone via SD micro card. Now when my wife calls her voice mail to check messages, as soon as she hangs up she gets a txt message that has two symbols: the first one looks like a pen standing upright and the second one is a @ right next to the pen symbol. We have contacted Cingular and they claim we are not receiving TXT messages [we do not have a TXT message plan but if we get them you have to pay 10 cents for each one]. Since we’re not getting billed for these TXT messges, I guess there is something on the phones software that is doing this. The crazy thing is that we call my wifes phone from our home phone, put in the password, hear her messages and if her phone is on she will get the same txt message even while we’re not pushing the cell phone key pad. I did a master reset on the phone, took the battery out, inserted a different sim card and the same thing happens. What could this be? A virus? motoxdam, I guess a seem edit can fix it, find it out in my seem handbook. look for "Voice Message Indicator".
I have a similar problem to motoxdam's. I get a blank message from "_@" when someone leaves me a message. After I listen to my messages, I get another message from "⌂@".
I edited seem 0032_0001 offset 02 so that bit 1 was set (changed offset 02 from 09H to 0BH). This had no effect.
That's the seem which I know will fix the problem. What's 09H, 0BH? are u sure you edit the seem correctly?
09H=09 hex to 0BH=0B hex
or
00001001 to 00001011.
In other words, I changed bit 1 from a 0 to a 1 , leaving the other bits alone.

HELP ME YUET, PLEASE!
I am a big fan of yours, using your MPs on my V360 (originally R4513_G_08.B7.86R_B) since 1.X.
I was browsing my phone with P2KTools (0.8.6 build 406) and went to Other Features section. Then I clicked on Get button to load values from phone and some options came checked others dont. I then checked [Alerts] Settings > Ring Styles > Details > Ans Mach option and [Other] Settings > Initial Setup > Vibe Sync option. Then I clicked on Set button and restarted the phone. No problem until now, but the font has changed and some pictures has gone. "I did something wrong" - I thought - "I will flash it with YuetMod 2.2.1 again and reset the phone". And so I tried. At the end, when RDS Lite 2.6 boot the phone, it does not happen. The message saying booting or restarting the phone freezed. It was like this for a half an hour and I removed the USB cable and closed RDS Lite. :(
Now I cannot power on my phone. I removed the battery for a half an hour, putted it back and nothing. When I connect the phone to computer through USB cable Windows says "USB Not Recognized", so RDS Lite, P2KTools, P2K Easy Tool, nothing recognizes it.
Is there any way of getting out of this situation or my phone is dead forever? Thank you very much in advance.

Adriano, try press & hold *, # and power keys as long as you can. you should get into bootloader screen if you are lucky, then flash the MP again.
and you can try to use other usb ports to see if your phone can be detected.

I have my phone back! What did I do? Just inserted my battery while pressing * and #. Then the bootloader screen appeared and I flashed it again with MP 2.2.1.

Hi, my phone v360 recently stopped working and when searching on how to fix it, I found this awesome website. Actually, I played a little bit with p2k tools and suddenly I couldn't access some menus. Also I enabled the test field and had this annoying result: the screen comes with numbers asking me to go to "compass.mot.com/go/efem" . Secondly, I can't access the 'c' drive of the phone. I don't know what to do. Should I perform a flash or what? Please, help
can any of the Yuetmod used on the L7e (an upgrade version of L7)?
I think the firmware series in L7e is different, so my answer is No.
about the "v360 recently stopped working", flash it to a MP if you can't figure out what's the cause.

there's a seem edit for it. Look for the seem in my seem handbook.
Hey Yuet. Uhm i got a big big problem!!! Well i have a v360v which i had been flashing with your great MP's from 1.8 to 3.2 using FB3 and iv been successful each time bsides some of my USB ports being messed up now and then.
However, i downloaded your 2.2 MP and tried flashing with RSD Lite 3.2, it gave a error and hung. I pulled out the cable, battery and then forced the app to close. Opened it again and connected phone, tried to flash and still same problem.
So i disconnected the phone again and now it doesn't even go into bootloader with * + # + power. It's dead :( Do you know of any methods i can try to revive it because i don't know how to testpoint.
Iv been reading threads all over but none seem to help.

Oooops forgot one thing in my post. When i connect the phone to usb it keeps saying "USB DEVICE NOT RECOGNIZED... ", no matter how many times i change ports or pcs.
Is there a way to force windows to see it in Flash Interface??. Also, what do i need to testpoint the phone because i have TP images?
