You shouldn't have flashed to v4.0 at first place. I have never announced v4.0 in imobile. I don't announce it because I don't recommend it. This version is just to help people with AER to fix their phones.
if you come to my blog to download v4.0, you should have read that Flash to it ONLY if your phone is with AER. That's why I always request people link to my blog to read the instructions before download, but you guys in that forum never respect this.
What you can try now:
1. check "network setup - band" should be 900/1800.
2. try flashing back to v1.8 or v2.0.
3. if flashing to 1.8/2.0 failed, reflash to v4.0 again.
it was all failed.

I'm not able to send picture messages to anyone, only text messages. Internet is working okay. Is there a setting I need to change for multimedia messaging? I have 2.x MP installed.
robin, seems that you have damaged your phone when your were flashing to the MP that you made for yourself. I don't think the testpoint would help. Better send it back to moto.

robin, just tell them you don't know what happened to your phone and it just has no reception. you are customer, so you must be loud and confident. :) they may flash your phone, change the board or change other parts of the phone, but they will know how to fix it.

aaa, if you have a working backup (make sure it is working), you can try to flash my MP. My MPs are not tested on 09.02 bootloader.
Change the "server info" to your own MMS websession.
Okay, and what would my own MMS Websession be? The only thing I know about a websession is from looking at it in a hex editor. Do I put in a URL? a name? explain it more please.
What program or how would I extract the LP from my MP backup? My backup has the extension .fp3 and not .shx.
After flashing your LP 0016, when I create a message, I have chinese characters to choose from. Is there a seem edit to fix that? Or should I reflash another LP?
If I extracted only the english from the 0016 LP, recompiled it and then flashed that back, that would leave me with only english and fix the problem. Right? Answer the previous question anyway, so I'll know that answer and everyone else will too.

Hi Yuet! First of all let me tell you your mod is just great!
I have a little question. Using P2KTools I uploaded a file to my phone, but I wrote a wrong upload path (missed the initial "/" or something). So the file was uploaded to "/a/a/mobile" instead of "/a/mobile". The problem is that I cannot delete neither those new folders nor even the files! Actually, the files DO delete, since its file lenght is 0, but I can't get rid of the directory entries. When I delete them, after refreshing the file list they come up again.
Any idea? This doesn't affect anything, just I don't like it. I don't want to reflash due to this!

Jiggygeek, you must be a first-time motorola user and never read the manual. :) You need to contact your own network provider to create the websessions for you, as websessions are network-specific. Typically 3 websessions will be created, namely HTTP, WAP and MMS. You have to select the MMS websession in the "server info" of MMS setup.
to extract LP, you should use fb3 to extract only CG4 (code group 4) in SHX format.
to input English, you just need to set up your "primary entry mode". you should choose iTAP or TAP english. Always press the MENU button to see the setup options please.
georgeman, try this. upload a file (> 0 byte) with the same name to the same location. Then delete the file & folder again. Also make sure there's no hidden files in the folder.
Ktqmeno, I remember one user told me that it works after putting those files in /c/mobile/pictures. are you communicating with another Motorola phone or other brand?
You're a funny man. I won't even comment on your english. You mean the cheap 25 page manual that came with the phone? It doesn't show anything more than the basics. Is there a friggin book that I can buy that tells about all the options and sub-menu's on this phone? I fixed the Message problem.

I was just kidding. Where do modders get the fonts to make LP's with? Are they just regular ttf fonts on the computer?
they use binary editor to create fonts. I didn't try it myself, so I don't know the detail. The moto default font is good for me.

Edward, regarding your DRM problem, I have told you to reduce the size of the DRM. However, the latest file you have sent to me is still in size of 1265KB, while the origianl L6 DRM is only 1231KB. You should reduce your DRM to < 1231KB, but seems that you didn't do your job.
dupont, I think you should read the description carefully before you try any MP. I have said the AER MP is for phones with AER firmware only. To get rid of it, you have to do the testpoint & repair pds procedure.
i have a problem with my flash and backup 3.0 which is trial to only 15 times run but i`v read on this blog that there is a regedit key which you can modify and it becomes a full version and i modify that key and the program isn`t working any more so i need that key again to repair it (beacuse the reinstallation do no help)

AK, that shouldn't do any harm. just some settings will be reset to factory setting.

houye, did you change any setting in the "engineering menu"? have you tried other sim card? first try to master reset/clear the phone. If no luck, maybe need to flash your phone.

My phone is a v360. And im using no skin. I think the problem is caused by a phone Theme.

houye, where did you get the LP0040? are you sure it is for L7? Find a working LP, then flash the MP & LP again.

You seem to really know your V360 phones and I haven't found the answer anywhere else... Is there anyway to store skins, wallpaper, etc. on the expansion card? I tried to use SkiMan to install skins and changed the directory to /b/mobile/skins but it didn't work... is this possible to do?

in Pictures, you can create Categories. It works as subfolder. Put your pictures into these categories, then you can jump from one category to another by pressing * or # key.

sh, congras! I think the EDGE is true.
in pictures, you press Menu key and select Categories. the list of categories will be shown.

It is a "preview mode". Images are loaded in lower quality in order to preview faster. No solution to preview in better quality yet.
Hi, it is ok to ask questions. feel free to do so. However, I don't know how to view pics in original size in full view mode.
you can only launch iTunes via shortcuts. if you want, you can set smartkey to launch shortcuts, then put iTunes as shortcut #1. such that you can launch iTunes by press the smartkey twice.
:) everybody is looking for these features, but they are not achievable with V360/L7 yet.

first to say, great work! I'm using 1.8 on my SLVR. The only thing that I want to change is to swap left and right soft-key. I already tryed to edit deem 0032-0001, ofset 89, as You sad. But current value is 44(??), and after changing to 0 (to be more precise, I unselected all), but nothing happend??

And 3rd, hope last question: hot to remap left and right 'side' key, or how they called it, 'smart key'? Under personalize/HomeKeys, whatever I put for left smartKey, it always start main menu. Right 'smart' key is default (on original software) camera, and on 1.8 voiceDial. I really don't like voiceDial, so if there is any way to remap...

bfg, thanks for your comments. my answers:
1. you did read the seem carefully, look at the seem under general setting in this post. you should turn on bit 5. after that, the value of offset 89 should be 64.
2. unselect "autostart" should stop it from autostarting. but if you restart your phone by p2k software, it will autostart again. It shouldn't autostart if you power down/on your phone. did you save the setting after unselect autostart?
3. read last 2 paragraphs of this post to restore original key map. I remap the keys to make it convenient for listening to music.
jpt000, it should be fine to use the auto-config sms. normally you should receive 3 messages, for GPRS WAP, GPRS HTTP and GPRS MMS. Maybe you can contact vodafone for help. If you have backup the websession file before flashing, just restore it.

jpt000, they should be "browser message" instead of sms. look at the "browser message" folder to see if they are there. once you select them, they should auto-install.
you have to restore from backup, save the websession files and flash again.

1. I have set speed dial numbers in my Phonebook but when I actually try to speed dial (holding down the key) it pops us with an error message saying "Speed No. 3 Empty". How can I enable speed dialling?
2. Are there any English instructions for MOTO-TXT anywhere?

Can you explain about the S/w version to me. Remember, I have your 2.0 MP installed and a v360 phone. My S/w version is R4513_G_08.B7.B7R. I'm looking at all the other websites and there is alot of MP's out there. Am I suppose to stay with R4513 MP's for them to work on my phone? I see MP's saying 47R, 48R, 46R. What does that mean? Are they compatible to my phone?
I'd like to move to a 1x1, also called a "tabbed" skin. Would I need to change out my MP for that? Would I need to change to a different mma_ucp for that?

I flashed my V360 with these files "R4513_G_08.B7.ABR" and "YuetMod v1.7d". I also made full backup with FlashBackup 2.62. But now I want the old software back. How I do that? Thanks in advance.
Jiggygeek, yes, you should only flash to R4513 firmware that are for V360. I think those 4xRs are for E398. you don't need to change MP to use those 1x1 skin, but you may need to change the mma_ucp.
haven't tried the suggested key map. will try it soon. My v360 is not with me now.

Kehveli, you can't restore backup with flashbackup 2.6. you will have to convert the flashbackup file to shx file, then flash the shx file. read this post.
Maybe you could install MediaViewer on your phone and produce a MP for us, and that way it would be easier for us to have the MV on our phones. I have the hardest time trying to install a corelet. I have followed 15 directions from 15 different people and still have no luck with it.
I would be glad to do all these, as long as I have the time. :)
I've got a problem with a skin, first of all I had to reorder the 4 icons in the main screen, but now those icons doesen't work (I don't know if they worked before either), for example I configure the "down joystick" to messeges, and when I press the "down joystick" the icon of messeges apears (I have them hidden), but it doesen't get me to the messeges... how can I fix that?. And please sorry for my rusty english...
pelado, there's a bug in the skin you are using. normally this happens in those 1x1 skins. try to create more than 1 frame in the gif animation icons.

First of all, I love all your work!
I'm having a problem with V360. In the 'ring styles' I can't set the reminder option to 'beep'; once I set it when I come back to check it's 'Off' again. I've searched and found some users have told you they have the same problem.
My phone originally came with 86R, and it worked OK. Since I flashed to Yuet v1.8 the problem came up. I also tried 'Diabolic53' MP which is based on ACR, and ALSO happens. (just in case, I have boot A0)
I beleive it's a flex/seem issue, since I have also tried an ABR retail Monsterpack and works fine.
Any ideas are welcome!!!

georgeman, I believe the problem only happens for a few users, that makes it difficult to troubleshoot. My v360 is also 08.A0, and it doesn't have this problem, that makes it even harder. I think my default setting is reminder = beep. isn't it? Did you make any change after flashing? You said the retail ABR flash was ok. have you tried to replace the 0032-0001 seem using the one in the retail flash? For the "soft ring" icon, I purposely remove it, so you have an option not to display the ringstyle icon, to have a clear view in home screen for your wallpaper.
pelado, I didn't try the trick, so I didn't give details. I heard that the bug is because the gif icon is not animated (having only one frame). For example, if the "messages" icon is a still image, the problem happens if you set "messages" to the home key. The solution is to make the icon animated (that is, having more than 1 frames in the gif.) and replace the icon in the skin. I hope I have made myself clear. please try it and let me know the result.

Did you notice that GIF pictures appear normally (no pixelated image) while only JPEG appear blocky??
Thus, I believe it is not a matter of quick loading, unlike what you said in a previous post....All types of pictures are loaded normally, but jpegs are displayed blocky !!
BTW when YuetPhoto is going to be released??

I instaled iTune and now my v360 is all scruwed. iTune starts by it self, I unchek autostart, but after restart it starts again, all my staf, phonebook, multimedia, when I try to run its just says Please wait, even for master reset and master clear, so no way to reset it. I don have backup firmware. Is there any way to restore my setings to default, with P2K or something else? All those sowtware recognise it. My phone info is: R4513_G_08.B7.ABR; Flex: SE4684AXXN71C1; IMEI: 352522015363671. HELP!

I think it is not mature enough to release although I am using it to make slideshows. I still want to make it better before releasing it. Maybe I should release a beta version for you to try.

I formated my card, but it is the same with or without card, all I can do now is to type the numbers and call, no sand/recive messages and nothing else. If I delete all files I see with P2K, will it let me to do a master clear or reset? Is it posible on internet to find a original firmware/instalation for my phone? Thanks.
you can find some MPs in my Blog and other stock MPs on internet. Just flash to a MP of your choice.

Hi Yuet. I have a question. I have a v360 and have tried to edit the mma using your tutorial and the utilities listed in the tutorial. However, when i try to convert the mma back, after i edited it with the "mma converter" i get an error. Please help me. Thanx.

kuddo, first you need to check if your firmware can support iTunes. Normally those branded firmware won't support it. iTunes can be set up in any shortcut, not just #5. Try follow this post to install intunes. If installation failed, you may need to flash your phone to firmwares that support iTunes.
pf, you have to flash, as the function is in the firmware.
mihai, what's the error and what menu items are there in your menu? some menu is not compatible, so make sure you don't have PTT setting, Airplane Mode, etc.

Okay, I know I am going to seem like a complete moron, but bear in mind that I am new to this. Here's my problem: I use media monkey to copy music to my v360 reflashed with Yuet's latest mod and r4513_G_08.b7.abr of the system Sw. I copied some music using media monkey to my phone in memory card mode and then started itunes. I found no music. Then I rebuilt the DB in media monkey and tried again...nothing. Then I used itunes to rebuild the dB and it said "please wait... 0%" and froze. I must be doing something wrong. Is there a step I'm missing?

for battery icons, you can change them by editing the DRM. here is a guide.
Right now I'm sending you the fixed skin, but what I'm asking is to change the voltageat wich you get the low battery warning, my phone shows my battery like empty when it has more 1 day of charge... Thanks!
pelado, I know what you mean, but I don't think we can do anything about it. It depends on the behaviour of the battery. Some batteries last longer at low voltage, and some last shorter. I only know a way to lower the voltage at which you hear the warning sound. Do a seem edit. try it.

mask13, make sure your websession is not full. if you have 10 over sessions, try delete a few and install the browser msg again.

I think you have done a fantastic thing with the Yuet MP. I love the apple theme. I am having an issue with a few keys and have tried to restore the original key map seem file. Even with the remap done the keys are still not working. It appeared after I did a remote unlock from a web site. I have not been able to restore key function. Key "8", "*", "left softkey" and "down arrow" are not functioning. any ideas on fixing this issue, thanks,

gakram, we can't do anything with software if the keys are malfunctioned physically. My suggestion is to map these keys to those not-so-important keys such as voice key, brower key, camera key and smart key.

I am trying since a few days ago to backup my phone, so I can install after that one of your MPs. Unfortunately, I get these errors every time I try to fbackup it:

I have 08.D0 bootloader on it, the phone is locked on Vodafone network, but it's the unbranded version (V360 not V360v). I have to mention also that the only changes I've made on the phone until now were installing some skins with p2k commander/tools, changing the external display text into a picture and some minor SEEM editing according to the instructions on your blog and all these worked ok, no problems occured until now, when I tried to backup it.
I would appreciate if you could help me solving that problem.

seba, get the latest version of fb3 and try to backup the drm again.

"increase SMS storege capacity" will be the next breakthrough. :) You can backup SMS using P2KTools, but no way to restore IMO. see this post for more info.
Hi, Your information has proved to be invaluble thank you so much - I have modded many things but now I have realized something is missing on my phone - the Video Camera icon in multimedia - I also had changed the one button that was used for web surfing changed it to video Camera - it doesn't do anything now - I don't know what, why or how it disappeared its really bizarre. red machine, I hope you have not deleted the video camera in the mma_ucp. Anyway, check the following 2 SEEMs first:
SEEM 004A_0001 offset 1D3 (01 for Multimedia > Video Camera, 00 for no Video Camera)
SEEM 0032_0001 offset 60 bit 6: Video Camera Support (1 on, 0 off)

I would like to ask you about making MP's. I've a phone that came with 09.02 bootloader, and I can successfully flash it yo your MP's, but I can't restore the backup I made with FlashBackup, it gives a critical error when flashing. I tried to replace all the CG's in your monsterpack with the CG's in the backup made with FlaskBackup using SHXCodec but it still gives the critical error when flashing (in the phone screen).
Do you think that I can fix it using RandomSHX just in the DRM edit Guide or is it more complicated with a full MP?
opqa, using randomshx to compile MP is much more complicated than DRM. As MP contains more than 1 CGs. Easier way is to create a Flex-only SHX. You can do it just like how we compile the drm. However, you should be able to use flash&backup 3 to create a working MP. Make sure you backup in shx format, make sure you don't backup bootloader & PDS, make sure you select the correct phone profile (the bootloader in the profile must be 08.D0 or 09.02, you can even try using L7 profile.)

Hello Yuet, I finally managed to restore the backup from the orignal firmware that came with the phone. The problem was that I chose to make the backup in fb3 format instead the shx and some problems appeared when flashbackup was trying to flash de CG1, but I finally managed to flash it using RSD Lite.
By the way, I write this post becouse I think that you may be interested in the firmware that came with my phone for your 3.1 MP, it's R44419_G_08.D6.19R version. I think it's quite recent version, the phone has less than two weeks. If you are interested I can send it to you, thanks again for your great MP'S.

Ups, I forgot this "little" detail. Yes, the phone is locked to my operator (an spanish one), and probably the flash will be too. Is the lock in the firmware or in the flex? If it is in the flex you could still use your own flex, but if it is in the firmware I guess that there's no solution as long as it is signed, is it correct?
Anyway, I will send it to you if you're still interested tomorrow or so... I'm sorry that I forgot the locking issue.

then would u replace the missed event indicator alert tone to other tone... continental tone is too common.. get what i mean? perhaps the retail version of "unmodded" alert tone would be ideal....
2505, you mean the default "notification" alert in YuetMod 1.8, right? I don't find the solution yet. will look at it.
the default tone that i mean is from an original brand new unmodded motorola v360. i still remember it uses a single beep tone (i.e. the tone "Plink" from your MP v1.8). i think that would be an ideal tone.
yuet, i've discovered there are a "problem" with the "reminder" in "ringsytles custom'".. V360 without ext card insert unable to enable the "beep reminder" = "missed event notification". but that feature will only work on v360 with ext card inserted...get the picture? its almost like the "reminder tone" file is located in the card rather than the phone memory...sorry for my bad english...

Hi This question is for anyone that knows the answer. it's not really a modding question but since this blog seems to be for v360/L7 someone should know the answer hopefully.. I was wondering I have the v360 and I want to purchase the bluetooth headset, I have flashed to yuetmod1.8 (Don't know if that matters or not) but can I listen to MP3's while using the bluetooth headset, cause this wired one is a pain in the a#@! thanks for the reply in advance..
Metallus, yes you probably do have a warranty and if you flash it will void the warranty but how long are you hoping to have your phone anyways? most people upgrade there phone within a year or two so if your phone breaks wouldn't you just buy a new phone? there cheap enough look around online you can buy unlocked phones from china for like 100$ USD.. The MP's are pretty cool, :):) DOn't be a pussy :)

hey yuet!!! I wanna ask you a question. The Motorola V360 has 262.000 colors rite? But after I reflashed my phone with your 1.8 MP, and tested the phone with MatraxBench, it has only 65.000 colors. Why is that ??? Thanks a lot.
jared, I heard v360 supports A2DP, but not sure. I think you should test before buying.
Metallus, if you care about the warranty, you should send your phone back to moto service dept. My MPs (except v4.0 AER MP) are not sticky, you can reflash to other MPs.

hakom, it is the "Black" itunes skin used in my MP version v1.5 or lower. It is similar to the "Black" skin in my MP v1.8.
night_whisper, yes, I think so. remove rsa check, then use the Motorola Bootscreen Replacer.

hakom, that DRM pack was made by me. it was used in my MP v1.5 or lower versions. you can get it in this post. download the YuetMod v1.4 file, which contains the drm pack and the flex.

Hi YUET!!!!! I've just realized that there is a program in P2K Advanced that can help you edit the SEEM files without knowledge about Hex Editing. Click on Phone Services/SEEM Functions then click on the SEEM you want to edit. Give me some idea of what you think.

there are many programs help you with seem edit, such as p2kAE and seem player, etc. use them if you like. but I think familiar with hex edit is a essential skill of a moto modder. :)
I am still experimenting many things in v3.1, so no schedule of release. and I don't like to set schedule for leisure project. :) don't be so excited.
you can set mms size limit to 300k, by a seem edit. please find it out in this post.

what seem editor are u using? try motokit. The seem id is case-insensitive.

I have my WAP and MMS setup correctly and try to use AIM but it says it cant connect,am i missing something?
nick, are u using my MP? what's your carrier? The AIM setting in my MP is for US tmobile only. If you want to set it up for other carrier, you have to delete the aim/yahoo/icq profile file in /a/mobile/wvim of your phone, then set up the AIM setting for your carrier.

Nick, I can't help because the setting is carrier-specific. I suggest you contact cingular to check if they support AIM, and how to set it up. Before you flash ur phone, did you have AIM on it?
no b4 it was just a regular black unlocked V360 with no AIM on it.

zul, I guess you mess up with the 0032-0001 seem. try to restore the original seem, or try master reset.
travis, you should use the seem edit feature in p2ktools to upload the seem to 0002-0005. read my seem edit guide if not sure.
