Tutorial: Getting iTunes with album art on a v360
First of all, you need these things:
MediaMonkey or
MediaMonkey 2.5.5.980 this is a beta build
Motorola Beta Plugin so that your v360 will be recognized by MediaMonkey
And iTunes already installed on your phone (an iTunes that can rebuild the db by it self, such as YuetMod iTunes.)
Let's begin:
1. After installing MediaMonkey copy the downloaded beta plugin to C:\Program Files\MediaMonkey\Plugins ( Install Path of MediaMonkey\Plugins ) and overwrite the previous d_iPod.dll.
2. Getting album art to your songs.
Before you start to add album art to your songs copy them from your T-Flash on your HDD ( it's a lot faster to add album art when the .mp3s are on the HDD and not the T-Flash )
Now let's start MediaMonkey ( no need for the phone just now )
To add the songs you want to tag just do like this:
1. File - > Add / Rescan Tracks to the Library... - > And check only the folder ( audio ) which you have copied from the T-Flash first ( I mean the folder with the songs on the phone ) -> OK
You will be asked something related to other players I just unchecked them / it.
2. To add album art go to Title, pick a song and right click on it. Select Auto-Tag from Amazon ( easier Ctrl + L when the song is selected )
Wait for MediaMonkey to search and when it found something related to what you are looking for ( you may have to find the proper album, with cover art and the right song on it ) check the song and click Auto-Tag. In the next dialog box select Save image to tag ( if possible ) and check in the future, do not ask me and Ok, after it downloaded the cover you manually have to close the dialog box. Repeat this step until all of your songs have album art.
3. Move your songs, now with album art, back to the T-Flash.
4. Building the DB
4.1. Plug-in your phone in Memory Card Mode and look for Motorola ( drive letter ), do a right click on it and select Rebuild Device database. At this point when running iTunes from the phone any song you play will have the same album art.
4.2. Unplug your usb cable from the phone, and start iTunes and build the DB from the phone.
4.3. Plug-in your phone and repeat step 4. 1 ( Rebuild Device database from MediaMonkey )
4.4. Unplug and restart your phone and there it is: Album art!
After all this work ( looks hard it's actually not ) you will have album art in iTunes on your v360.

but,, one thing, can we manage our playlists from MediaMonkey? coz it seems like after using MediaMonkey, my V360 wouldn't work with MotoTunes anymore.

Hi skater/Alex, if I am not wrong, press the "fire" key when playing the song will show the large art.

I tried this but when I connect the phone to the USB I get the following error in MediaMonkey:
Exception EOleError in module d_iPod.dll at 00020810

does the album art works on all itunes? I'm using version yuetmod2.8.0.. I tried the steps but i don't see any album art..:(
yuetmod2.8.0 was used in this tutorial, so it should work.

I'm still having problems with my Yuets iTunes.
I'm not able to see the "now playing" screen. I have followed what you said and converted and tagged all my media and put it on the V360, but it refuses to play more than one song at a time.
I also cannot change the settings screen
Any ideas?
zemog, have you tried to clean the card/format the card? please try with some MP3 files, not converted ones. BTW, what's the card you are using?

I have reformatted the card.
It's a 256mg card.
I beleive it's the ipod_dll, MM only reads my phone as a usb FD e:/
I created playlist in MM with the tags attached for each .mu3 file and pasted it in the mobile/audio file. itunes recreates the db and loads the playlists
I can play one song and scroll to change
Also, I can't change the settings menu. They are all checked exceptfor skins and I can't uncheck the Any more ideas?

i have a problem and i didn`t find anything to help me on your blog so maybe you may know and forgot to post:
i am trying to change a MP on my phone (a .shx file) and everytime i try i get some critical errors...for example i tryed to install the original unbranded motorola software and it didn't work...RSD Lite 2.5 and 2.7 got stuck at 16% CG1 ... there is only one .shx that works: the one i made as a backup with flash&backup 3.0 before trying to change the software on my phone. here is some info about my phone wich might help you answer my question:

cloud, have you tried to flash to my YuetMod v1.8 MP? and have you tried to use another usb port?
yes i have tryed to change the usb port and all....but i think that the source of the problem is the diference of the firmwares...i have mine ACR introduced when i installed diabolic mp 1.3 mediaviewer and the ones im trying to install are ABR. do you know any way to "downgrade" the FW to abr?
cloud, if you can't flash from ACR to ABR directly, try flashing to 5AR first, then ABR.
Yuet man i think u are great and i apreciate u trying to help me but what i am asking for is some links or a program to change the software with. What i am trying to do at the moment is install a original v360v(ABR FW( or original motorola(ABR FW) over my current MP(.shx) wich is Diabolic MP 1.3 Media Viewer(ACR FW) with RSD Lite v2.5 and 2.7 and it gets stuck at 16% saying Flashing procces failed Phone[0000] (and something else i don't remember). I have the 09.02 bootloader. Someone said it might be the firmware thing but i don't know and that's what i'm asking you. Thanks man.
that's why I suggest you flash to 5AR firmware first. If you can flash to 5AR firmware using rsdlite, you should be able to flash to other firmware such as ABR. you won't know if you don't try.
doesn't rsd lite only flash .shx files and some other extention into the phone? i don't have such a .shx that changes firmwares...i only met this thing in diabolic mp 1.3 media viewer it changed my FW from ABR to ACR. and i have no knolledge of how to do that can u walk me step to step maybe help me with making a .shx that changes firmwares?
cloud, download & unzip 5AR firmware, then flash it as how you flashed the diabolic mp. If success, then flash to stock ABR firmware or my YuetMod v1.8 MP. After that you will get back the ABR firmware.
ok i tryed it exactly how you asked and with the .shx files you told me to download. here are the results:
with RSD Lite v 2.5 i tryed installing the ABR software...it loaded CG1 up to 17% then it got stuck and i got left with not firmware just the bootloader mode. and when i tryed to install the 5AR firmware it sayd Critical Error 10 and 39. Any more suggestions?
cloud, "get stuck when flashing" most likely is due to faulty usb port, have you tried other port or other pc? if you are sure the usb port is ok, I don't have other idea. Maybe you should check with diabolic, since the problem is caused by his MP.
i don't think i can check with Diabolic since i argued with him badly once and i don't think i want to check with him since he si taking somehow credit for wyour work...because most of what he did he learned from your blog. and alot of cases are when it gets stuck while flashing for example right after sending the RAMDLD with Flash Backup 2.5 but it works with RSD Lite...so i don't know what the problem might be.
one more thing...i just realised that when i try to connect my phone in bootloader mode it says unknown device in my hardware devices in my computer / properties and when i try to update a driver it says it can't find the propper driver o any newer driver then the one already installed and that the device needs no divers. Do you know where i can get newer and propper drivers for the v360 phone? please...and i hope i'm not a pain
cloud, I'd not comment on what diabolic did. :-) I just focus on what I do.
maybe the problem is because of your bootloader is 09.02. I don't have much info about this bootloader yet. BTW, if you try to flash the diabolic mp again, will it ok? How is your phone now? is it still working? I have never flashed my v360 to the ACR firmware, so not sure what would happen. If you have the backup, why not flash back to your backup first, then try other MPs?
For V360, you should install motorola driver 2.9. There's a link in this post about fixing driver problem. Good luck!
ok here is what i do everytime and fail:
programes used: RSD Lite 2.5
Flash & Backup 2.5
SHX Codec
.shx files of the original motorola software ; vodafone software ; diabolic mp 1.3 media viewer and a backup i made with flash backup 3.0 of my phone before trying to install other softwares (wich is diabolic mp modded by me...u have some info above)
i connect my phone to the usb cable, i start RSD Lite 2.5...it detects my phone...i select a .shx (i want to install the original motorola or the v360v - original vodafone- over the software i curently have) and when i try to flash it to the phone it either says FW Upgrade...please wait on the display of my phone and gets stuck while flashing CG1 at 16% ptogress or it says Critical error 11 35 right after sending the RAM Downloader. After this the phone is like it has no firmware...maybe stock...just the bootloader mode or flash mode however it's called and it says ready for programing insert usb cable, but the only working .shx files are the backup i made and diabolic mp 1.3 mediaviewer. I think i need some testpoing software or service software to fix this proble...and if you want to try the ACR Firmware you can obtain it by installing the diabolic mp (the one i have) you can get it at http:\\alluneed2.tk
i will also let you know that your MP also gets stuck with rsd lite v3.2 this time and with 2.5 earlyer at 16% as does v360v and original motorola from 2 sources

yeah sure...but i think yahoo would be more useful for our type of conversation...and i think i found out what the problem is...the bootloader...it facilitates the ACR firmware...09.02. i can install original motorola firmware...but i can't change DRM or other code groups...while other people with 08.D0. can

cloud, I found the bootloader used in Diabolic's mp is 08.D0. Now I am not sure why you can flash to his MP, but not mine. Can you backup your 09.02 bootloader and send to me via email? my email can be found at right sidebar.
Getting album art was far more difficult for me than it should have been. For the longest time I could get to the point with all songs with the same cover art, but not each with their own cover art. I found the fix but only after a long search into what the problem was. Right Click on Motorola (E:\) | Properies | Device Configuration | Update Database Based on All Track Changes. I had that unselected... if anyone else is having a problem getting each track to have unique art make sure this option is selected, not just "newly added tracks"

Here is some thing that might be of interest.
MediaMonkey 2.5.5.991 is just out and you do not need the Beta Plugin.
I had lots of problems with trying to get MediaMonkey to work, but not just that even load files to the Audio folder, some errors and time out, MediaMonkey would keep stopping when doing a Rebuild DB.
Well tracked it all down to my USB cable, the cable is a real MoTo one, but kept thinking I have timing problems with the USB connection, PC has USB 2.0/1.1 ports, seems like I might be right, used the one from my Sony camera and all went like a dream.
I am still concerned about the KINGSTON 512m microSD card though, the local shops here only have the Silicon and Toshiba brands, so will have to wait till the 16th to change to a Sandisk brand.

Things look OK but one small thing is no Album art on the start screen.
as per giany911 post on MediaMonkey forum.
I also find that the Player Icons are set to the Left on this screen.
May be this is the Reason..?

Yuet, are you going to include itunes with media viewer in your next mp, i have it and its nice that i can open media viewer from the itunes menu. Also is there a way to play videos fullscreen on v360?
I find MV is not very useful. :) so far no way to play fullscreen video yet.

i just want to ask if that Media Monkey will detect my phone as L7. I've flashed my L7 using ur MP v1.8 and i change back my phonemodel from V360 to L7.

yes, I think mediamonkey works with L7 also. and it should detect it as L7.
Hi Yuet, i flashed my motorola v360 with your AER version which mine is, which worked amazing only thing is iv lost all my EMS predifined animations and can no longer recieve these or send them in sms,i know its nothing much, but i do like these emotions is there any way of reinstalling them back into my phone iv searched the net for days now
